Save more or earn more?
Guys one simple question for you...
Say you are not saving much of your income... What would u do? Look for more paying job? Or try to cut your expenses and save more?
Will earning more necessarily ensure that you save more?
Cheers,
Ashwini

Re: Save more or earn more?
invest is the right term...not save....looking out for a high paying job...i guess wont solve the matter...more you get more your expenditure also increases...have idea about investing money...or every month...how little may it be....basically plan your finances well....

Re: Save more or earn more?
Hi friends...,
Its good to SAVE more.. coz 'Money saved is money earned'.
If you can save more.., at the end of the day that will be the money you have in your hand. Even if you earn more nothing will be left in you hands,if you do not save.

Re: Save more or earn more?
Saving money will not serve any purpose inflation will eat up all your savings... The best example my grand father told his experience he had got life coverage for 3000 by paying 150 Rs/year (150 had value at that time it is when my dad was having a masala dosa for 5 paise) but by the time he completed his term the value of 3000 was nothing.
So saving + investment will secure your money & life.
So saving + investment will secure your money & life.

its not 15% the point is the money should appreciate in the same terms as the inflation. This ensure that the intrensic value of the maney remains same.Say you have 10Rs and the cola costs 10Rs today. Tomorrow if the cola costs 15 your Rs10 should have grown to 15Rs.But the catch is none of the safe funds like the PPF,Fixed deposit,Postoffice deposit etc which are considered risk free are good to handle this kind of growth. They simply have no elemet of inflation adjustment incorporated with in them. Its one and only share market that incorporates the inflation adjustment mechanism. But the problem is it is not totally risk free.

Re: Save more or earn more?
Agreed... Conventional saving instruments like savings and FDs cant address inflation, though they are pretty safe. Investment in Gold, Land and selected shares will be best bet in that angle...
